      WARNING:

Had a client that is slow to update (they only reach out to me in an emergency). Well they are having one now.

Microsoft has just pushed out an Office365 update that broke Outlook on El Capitan 10.11. The cure appears to be to update those users to Sierra 10.12.

Thanks for the warning (we're current)

Unfortunately those users should already be on Sierra. . .

But if some how someone has fallen through the cracks, I'll update em.

Yeah this is totally because they should have been current but.. now I get paid to fix it so well... not all bad

Exactly - this warning is needed why? because someone choose not to be up to date?

If you installed something on Windows 10, and you're on 1607, I'm going to ask you why you aren't on 1703? Now sadly - MS hasn't pushed 1703 to everyone yet... so it's possible you're not there because your machine has a known issue with 1703.

Being on El Capitan for Mac users is like Windows users being on Windows 7. Not like being on an old build of Windows 10.

Lol, even less of an excuse then.

This is why no one should shun an informational post. It's actually fairly idiotic to do so as there are ALWAYS one offs. You have to deal with the fact that there will always be the end user factor. For anyone here to think their environment is perfect and so are their users is laughable.

and there is always that "one off case" of special...

                              There is no special!

                              Special means broken

No, but they take the equipment with them, and when the issue gets pushed they fall to their manager to yell at us. . .

But I've got the system updating now.

I hope you did not consider my post to be a showing of this post in general. It wasn't. It was really making fun of people who can't be bothered to keep their computer is up to date and then wind that they have problems when they apply a future update.

Thank for this reminder, I have had the same issue with multiple Mac Users either the Microsoft AutoUpdate does not work or the user does not update. Usually most issues with Exchange and Outlook for Mac are fixed by an Update of the Microsoft Office suite.

Having users that leave the office with their laptops = updates being pushed off etc. pretty often. Can't wait for a good way to monitor this stuff aka SODIUM (man they really do need to come up with a better name for that).
