Circle w/ Disney. What do you think?

Wife is wanting to check out Circle with Disney for control of wifi devices on our home network. I am always skeptical and a little paranoid about what I bring on to my home network and am really wanting to check this thing out.
According to their website, it works by ARP spoofing and pulls database information from Circle servers on up to date information. The circle servers are also accessed to relay information to you while you are outside the network. They are saying that it is safe and private and is saying all of the right things, but I'm still skeptical.
I also did a google search on "circle with disney hacked" and got rubbish.
Has anybody had any experience with this thing? If so, what are your thoughts?

I see the price is 99. Ive not used one, but perhaps for that price you could get content filtering on a pfsense type software and just put that on existing hardware in your home network.
edit: although not sure if it can have the 'break time' feature or not like the Circle does. -
Then what stops me from putting a firewall with a webfilter and radius to the device?

Nothing clean and easy to use.

Using pfSense and some add on is going to be the closest.
Untangle would be next.
But for anything good and solid you will need a service like circle offers from someone.

What if you went the DNS route such as OpenDNS or something similar. You could configure your home router to use that if you need filtering. There are others, OpenDNS just came to mind first.

Circle is much more than filtering. It is also flat killing the service and such if you want.

Circle has evolved much more to even pn the 4G service. I have my own review of it that I can share. It is actually not controlled by DNS but rather by device. I had it for two months before the 4G service as a trial and worked as intended but the hardest part was to control it remotely, I needed to be at home or my wife and the Android apps wasn't that great. I would think Untangle can do the sam as well. I can share my review if you want.
To be honest I am using OpenDNs right now.
