The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, organized, and have an excellent mind for problem solving.

      • Assist in the customization and adaptation of existing software applications to meet users’ requirements as well as deploy new software packages.
      • Assist in maintaining company intranet site pages.
      • Assist other department members with projects as needed.

      Job Requirements

      • Web development / programming experience
      • Must be able to lift 50 lbs. and to occasionally climb, kneel, crouch, crawl, and reach.
      • Must be able to work full time (M-F 8-5) as well as some nights and weekends when needed to meet job requirements and IT department deadlines.
      • Travel will be required from time to time as we have multiple offices in the DFW metroplex.
      • Knowledge of Spiceworks or other ticketing systems is a plus

You'd likely have better luck proposing a staff augmentation. From the description of the post and the size of the company, it's a warm body in a chair type of position.

I just had a quick chat with the boss, and he mentioned $15 - $18 per hour depending on experience.

Which is equivalent with ~$42k in Baltimore.

Given RAM's experience, I ran with $17 per hour, then factored in cost of living for his area compared with DFW. Housing's cheaper, gas is cheaper, and there's no state income tax.

Edit: Sad, I'm not making much more than that now!

I was thinking this could be cool but that's not enough for me. To leave where I am now, that would be going the wrong direction by a certainly noticeable margin...

We've made an offer to an internal candidate who has accepted. I wanted to let folks know this is no longer an open position (unless something goes horribly wrong).

Always a chance that he just won't show up on his first day.
