o365 Move DOMAIN from o365-1 to o365-2
-
What issues - if any - would there be to move a DOMAIN from one O365 to another? To move it, I'll need to remove a few group and Alias entries first. and by a few -
- 3 aliases & Skype addresses
- 2 groups
- 2 group aliases
-
This seems like an odd request.
I have no idea what issues might arise.
-
It really is just a 'administrative' move. The Domain should have been under o365-2, but was put under o365-1. And really I suppose there isn't any secrets here. It's a GroveSocial / NTG thing. They are both @Minion-Queen but separate. I'm moving ML from NTG to it's actual home of GS.

Do you care about any of the data? If not, then you'll just have to recreate the users on the new side, unless MS allows that info to be sucked over?
-
Data has already been saves on my end.
-
If you're really lucky there will be no need to change MX records - the change will all happen internally at MS.
-
Treat it like a normal migration. Back up mailboxes, remove domain on 365-1 add and verify to 365-2, carry on.

Okay - so I've looked and searched. @mike-davis has used PS to search and can't seem to locate the
smtp:[email protected]
addresses that are preventing the domain removal.Dependencies on domain To remove this domain, you'll have to remove the following dependencies, first. Aliases & Skype addresses Email aliases and Skype addresses will be deleted. (3 accounts; not copied)
I've looked at Users, and Exchange - they aren't to be found. it's been a few hours since they were deleted....

Open a ticket with 365 support, you guys are a partner so get priority.

Yea,.. .I done that,.. just wonder if it was something I was missing some how. I've set SMTP addresses up in the past (aliases) but wasn't coming across them.
-
Time maybe? Which some times happens, and I think @mike_davis suggested.
Was able to delete the domain from the NTG side,... so moving forward.

That moment when you have spent 3 hours waiting (5 min here and there) and then realize you are in the WRONG DNS Management Page....
