I don't but often think about the fact I should. I have started looking at the type that will sit on my regular desk and just raise up and down.
Yeah, they are nice, but many of them are several hundred dollars. The IKEA table was $7.99
huh?? I think I need to look at that -

oh ok I get it this sits on top of a flat surface so it is tall enough. I am only 5' 4" (well almost at least) and that would be way too tall for me ha ha ha.

We should have a standing desk in the Dallas office.

I have wondered too about the transitional desk. Though I can't stand for extended periods due to nerve damage and now it would seem a bad ankle.

I've used them and I love them. I REALLY want a walking desk, with a treadmill. But feel like I'd fall over.

I would break something

NOPE, could not walk and type, standing was enough of an adjustment.

I wonder if you can walk while reading, then easily stand still while typing. That would solve it.

So you bought a white wood desk and then sawed the legs off of that table to create this? Do you have pictures of the end result? I can't stand all day or sit all day. I feel like a transitional desk would work wonders.

I don't think I can walk and read.... I have never tried.

I'm 6 foot tall so I didn't have to cut the legs at all. Here is a picture of my desk. I move between the table and the regular desk.

This is the desk I have in my office.

I have debated on one of those but I already have really expensive desks so I don't want to replace anything.

I got it because they were needing to buy a desk when they hired me on.

When I worked as an intern for the Fed, one of the ladies had one. It took a lot of red tape for her to get it in there and a lot more red tape for her to get it out when she left for DC.
If you're in a cube farm, it can get kind of annoying to others. Especially to helpdesk people who are on the phone with other users. If you have a big enough office, then I wouldn't see a problem with it.

If you have people on the phone in cubes, you've already failed.
