      There is a Remote Agent for Linux in Backup Exec, at least in Backup Exec 2010.

          If that is true, you should using any of a number of other free backup products that are available today.

              What version of Novel? Didn't Novel by Suse and use that as the base? Or are you using a version of Novel that is as old as Veritas Backup Exec?
