Why does it need a mobile app? It works really well from my mobile device.
Maybe I'm alone but I use apps more when available. Especially using split apps. If I'm texting someone while reading a thread, I'll split it and do both instead of switching back and forth. Just an example though cause now most texting apps have Quick Reply in the notification drawer.
Is a lack of an app a lack of demand then?
I will say MangoLassi in mobile web works better than Spiceworks on my desktop browser in many things.
If it did become an app it would be the webpage that is wrapped in a app package. No different really then putting the shortcut to ML on your home screen.

Plus I usually have like 12 tabs open on my phone. Easier to get back to Mango as an app rather than sift through tabs. I try to keep that tab at the top anyway.

Fair point.

I would like it to be an app (as opposed to a Web page)
It would be nice to have direct interaction with the device, and notifications from the app. So much happens that I miss with the web interface.
But I do agree the mobile web interface is very good no problems.

Yeah notifications is a big one. There's email notifications but it's not the same.

This site is so busy though... Our phones would have a nervous breakdown from all the alerts, lol.

@BBigford Figured it's what you always wanted.

Some buttons don't interact well in the app. Still runs as a browser though so notifications would be pretty much dead.
-
@BBigford Well @ least you can still check em in the app son. Sorry to disappoint.

I had to update the welcome message so @scottalanmiller doesn't sue.

Would be nice for chatting. The chat window on a mobile browser is terrible.

Will it ever be?
No plans for one. If the mobile experience is lacking, getting that fixed would be the priority. A standalone downloadable app doesn't really make sense since you can't post while offline anyway.

You can turn any website like ML into an app on your phone in either iOS or Android. So that it acts like an app, looks like an app but is still running in the browser.

There used to be notifications, we disabled them because it didn't work correctly.

That's one of the more important for me. I use the chat function quite a bit. Since I don't like having a chat app on my work computer, I use Mango chat since Spiceworks lacks that functionality all together with real time updates.
But it works fine for me... What issues are you having?

I think they just need to upgrade the chat interface, doesn't need to be natively installed for good functionality.

Scrolling in a chat window on my iPhone doesn't really work. The text box disappears and will show up depending on how fast I scroll, but I can't click in it. Hard to explain.

Ya but an app gives you things like offline content. I definitely prefer using the spiceworks app over their mobile site.
