Domain user - open file warning
-
we have domain setup and everything is working properly. then this week, this user encounter this warning alert.
-
Hi,
Any idea how to check this issue please?
-
Is there any reason for them to not have this file saved directly on their computer?
I've also recommended that you Add this server to the Trusted Sites in Internet Explorer (set it up as file://domain.com/fileshare) and that should help to clear this issue up.

The shortcut is on the desktop, but the file is on a server.
I get this same message when copying/open files from my NAS, but not from my Windows SMB servers.

@dafyre Yep. Add that local domain to the Trusted Sites list and map it via fqdn
-
User Configuration > Policies > Administrative Templates >
Windows Components/Internet Explorer/Internet Control Panel/Security PageSite to Zone Assignment List
Value name
file://domain.localValue

From what I can see, it's a shortcut to a open shortcut file (.lnk) instead of an actual file.

I wonder why he is getting this message when using a shortcut (.lnk file) to access a file on a network share? I don't get that when I use shortcut files to my network. Only when copying files from my NAS to my PC
