Just finished a meeting with my bosses - The overview is : Im doing well, but with me leaving every other week It's causing issues with my advancement within the company, Time to re-think some decisions on child care.
Leaving every other week?
yes - where I have to leave early every other week.
oh - because no afternoon daycare.
They should be able to have people at your company who can work from home - hell you're already required to be oncall and able to work from home - so just pickup your kid and work from home. Offer that to them.

Work from home!
What are you doing now as far as child care, one week on, one week off?

I did today actually,
Said I could work from home after i pick him up - just take a late lunch during the day.
They said they want to work with me because my job isn't in jeopardy - ( I feel like they meant yet )
and they respect and agree with what im doing as a dad .They've said " You're a great employee, you're doing a great job. We just want to see you grow and advance with the company- with you leaving early every other week and coming in late after taking to him school - You're 'Stuck' and not advancing because you aren't here to learn.
I need a #2 and That could be you, you have the drive for it. you just arent here to apply yourself " -

because you aren't here to learn.
How did such clueless people advance then? Their inability to learn has been a constant point of contention. Clearly, something not true there.
-
But let's be real, you do NOT want to advance with that company, you already know that. Advancing with a bad company can lead to feeling like you are trapped and can make it harder to make a good career decision.

This is totally not true because he still there after being told this more than one time from more than one person. So he obviously likes this and deserves to be there.

It's not inability to learn .
Its not having time to learn because I'm leaving 1.5 hour early everyday for 5 days at a time .

I have said MULTIPLE times that i enjoy my job -
am I looking another job? - Yes.
But no one wants to talk to me because i don't have experience - and/or schooling - I've put in multiple resumes/applications at places hiring.
Looking for a job with no experience? its fucking hard. -

Wouldn't being pointlessly at a desk instead of a more work conducive environment be the actual barrier to learning? Their story just doesn't add up.

And you can't do calls and learn from home? What do they perceive as an educational barrier at home that doesn't exist at the office?
-
When our staff is home, they work calls. In fact, all calls go to homes. But being home provides for a better learning and study environment, fewer distractions.

Like non-technical 1990s SMS? I think we are finding the core problems
-
For example, whether we were in the office or home, we use Rocket (but Slack, Mattermost, MS Teams, etc. whatever) to communicate in real time, with the whole team, without totally interrupting everyone and making the place inefficient.
It allows us to get individuals, teams, etc. in real time, with minimal effort, while also tracking conversations so that we can easily convey technical information fast, but also look it up later.
