@jaredbusch well I say out the box.
I've static the IP join it to the domain. Enable remote desktop (I can RDP into it).What else should I be doing?

@hobbit666 also potentially useful

Basically the firewall stuff it not right directly out of the box. Assuming that the Hyper-V server is domain joined and you are launching Hyper-V Manager as a domain admin.

All helpful and I'll have a look Monday when back in. Unless I get a few hours peace over the weekend.
But my question is with ESXi and XenServer all you do is install. Setup an IP then install the client and connect.
HyperV you seem to need to run endless commands.
I would of expected since it's Microsoft and I'm using Win10 if both machines are on the domain I should be able to connect. -
@jaredbusch yeah that's what I expecting. I can ping from the server to the my pc but not the other way. So guess firewall.
(Got involved with an office move so got distracted to look further) -

VMWare did not used ot be easier. You use to have to manually install a fat client. Is their new HTML5 thing built in? Or is it still a separate install? I have no idea.
XenServer simple? Hahahahahahahhaahah

On another note.
Got most tasks done. Apart from the Proposals
But did delve into the scale solution more and starting looking a switches and how to connect it all up so I can see what I need (more in terms of number of ports needed) -

I want one of these:

Those have always been on my mind, I just can't seem to pull the trigger to buy one.

@jaredbusch just me being ... Blah to M$ lol
