Stayed up until one last night with the kids. Liesl played Octodad on her own right up to the final battle and was reading everything in the game on her own. Huge breakthrough. It was her "ah ha" moment and she announced to us that she can now read. Huge tipping point for her.

Just ran to the local bakery for bread and Saturday morning donuts.

I want to know how good that is. We had a couple of chances to see it in the theatre but never got to go.

It's my all time favourite musical. I saw in around 1990 when PBS broadcast the Broadway production with the original cast. I bought that performance on LD and later on DVD. It's on Amazon now. Amazing.
I performed a lot of the numbers from it when I was a music performance major.
When they did the Vanessa Williams revival on Broadway Dominica bought be tickets and we drove down to Manhattan (so somewhere around 2003) to see it with the new cast and new numbers added in.

I found a diary entry from 2006 when Dominica and I went to see "The Pajama Game" on Broadway where I mentioned "Into the Woods" as the last show that we had seen some years earlier, but can't find the entry for it itself...

Ah ha, I found it!! We saw Into the Woods on Broadway with Vanessa Williams on May 11, 2002. @dominica took me to see it for my 26th birthday present. We were living in Ithaca, NY at the time, so Manhattan was pretty far away.
