What Are You Doing Right Now

Just had a thought - add a button on the UAC box to allow admin actions for #minutes

That would require encrypting a temp file with the local (or domain) admin credentials for a period of time.
Which isn't impossible, but is impractical. If you were working remotely on a system for a user, and granted this access for lets say 30 minutes.
That user could easily disconnect you, and have free reign on the system to add a new local administrator. Effectively stealing the computer.
-
@DustinB3403 Sigh, I guess. I was thinking more like 5 minutes but considering your reply I agree with you. It'd be a real risk.

Would it? In the UNIX world they have long had this and it is just a timer.
-
Arguing with AT&T again because they still have not forwarded the calls for my client,
-
I sent in an Echo feature request to Amazon last night and they responded this morning with "we've never heard this one and we love it - we are looking into it!" How cool is that?

That's what I was basing it off, I'm not sure how it would work, nor do I really care TBH. Just be so handy, especially with the really long PW's we all have to use.
-
I don't need a password when using UAC. What is causing that?

Long passwords... yeah I totally agree "Password12345678" is tedious to have to type over and over...
-
@DustinB3403 /me looks around for something to hit you with
-
hahah
-
Me right now...
-
@scottalanmiller What feature did you request?
-
@DustinB3403 No, no no... You gotta make it secure... it should be "Password 12345678!"
-
I thought it had to be un-remember-able, or at least un-guessable.
"My password is 12345678!"
-
Pouring rain just started here. Glad to be living where there is rain again. I've missed that.
-
You'd thinking living in a rain forest that I would have seen some rain, but no.
-
@DustinB3403 Just make your password "incorrect"
8-)

Related to the AT&T issuesw I have been dealing with all day...
I just called the site to see if the AT&T tech has showed up to replace the cisco router that splits the T1 into voice and data.
What does the branch manager tell me?
"I just took it out and check that power was coming from the cord and it was. So I took it apart to see if there was a fuse or something."
WTF ARE YOU DOING?!?
Are you intentionally trying to make us pay for this thing?
You plugged in the cord to 3 outlets that are powering other devices just fine.
No lights ever came on. It is dead. There is a guy coming out from the provider.
DO NOT F** [moderated] TOUCH IT.
