          They call this a jet, but is it really? Doesn't a jet require a combustion chamber?

            It does mention it as a 'jet,' however it is a ducted fan.

            However jet can mean a number of different things, a slab of steal can be cut with a water jet.

              Jet is normally a Jet of air vs propeller based as far as I know. Not necessarily a Jet engine.

                    Yes, to be a jet you have to have jet propulsion.

                        Yes. Ithink they qualify. Especially when you first turn them on, that is their takeoff speed. 8-)

                          Sure those other 'jets' are fine because there is context. In this context though, these planes aren't 'jets,' they are ducted fan planes.

                          I wonder what the sound differences are between these vs jets vs turbo props, etc?
