I know I'm stuck in the past.. but I really just like my Windows apps.

I only hope that developers will start to make updated version of their apps, Windows Apps (i.e. Windows 10 apps) that are fully desktop and mobile aware.

I think the Surface with Windows 10 legacy and modern apps is the perfect blending of what I want in a computer.

Somewhat of a mild surprise, at least on the timing of the announcing...they are dropping the "pro" from these so this is the Surface 3...

Windows 10 and the universal apps idea should only improve the "Windows Store" apps, unless those stubborn companies (Bank of America, Chase, MLB (the At Bat app) and Instagram) just will refuse to even write for Windows...

Does that mean that they are all pro but don't say it? Or that they are all consumer?

This is a new product in addition to the existing SP3... not replacing the Sp3

It's great, As long as it comes with Windows Pro!

I would love to deploy these to my medical staff, they are cheap decent looking devices that allow full windows use (required by our vendor). As long as they perform well and get good battery life these would rock.

Any place you can use an iPad you can use this, but it's potentially much more versatile.

Yep. Looks like it will be an Intel Atom. not sure if I'd be okay with that for anything besides web browsing. Unless Intel Atom has gotten much better than it has been.

yep, definitely x86 based... ATOM. Full out windows, RT is dead.

I only really need it for browsing, and hopefully new Windows Apps (windows 10 apps)

The Atom is pretty impressive for what it is. But I agree, going from a new i7 to an Atom is quite a drop.

Basically, this is the original "Surface" but with x86 and not ARM...goodbye Windows RT...

                              That's a good explanation.

I've got the Surface Pro 3 Core i7 and when needed, I go down to my Dell Venue 8 Pro...I can for sure tell a difference but it is still quite workable...
