This guy. Just confirmed. I'll be speaking on "DevOps and Snowflakes". The title is going to be altered, but that's the subject matter.

        Congrats!

I'd love to go but I'd need a sponsor or a winning ticket for the contests people who are bad at math play.

This is my first time heading over to the London event. Thankfully I'm sponsored on this one. My ticket is covered by SW (because of my Spicy Award and again because of my Triple Cap status) and the travel (which is just a train ride away) is sponsored by my employer, Change, so that I can represent them!

I will get a nice train trip across France, which should be neat.

I get to take a train from the southern coast of Spain, within sight of Morocco, all the way across Spain then across France to get there. Should be some amazing scenery.

Nope, I was there for a couple of days last year most recently, and I'd been there a couple of other times. London is my favorite "big city" so far.

Traveling across Spain and France by train sounds very cool. If the weather is nice, seeing the countryside with a large amount of time to just sit and think would be amazing.

One of my least, actually. Barcelona is my favourite large city.

I've done the east to west route, from Barcelona to Madrid to Libson - so from the water to the water across the peninsula. And I've done London to Brussels across norther France and some bits of eastern France. But crossing the entire center of France south to north should be really cool.

It isn't for the city. It is for the people. I have never been in a city near that size, with as many friendly (non creepily), helpful people.

Having lived in NYC for several years, which is larger, it just seems like a more expensive version of NYC with nicer weather. I've also since learned that when in NYC I'm good at sensing when people should be avoided but when in London my natural danger sensors don't work (everyone has a nice, British accent) and I go into the slums and dangerous areas and don't realize it.

Spain to London sounds like an awesome train ride. I've taken the fast train from Madrid to Seville and it was amazing.

I'm about an hour away from SpiceWorld but I won't be going. London doesn't have any slums by the way 🙂

I walked the docklands from City of London to Canary Wharf.

I'm looking forward to the train ride, it's a great path to be taking. Long, though.

We took the train from London to Paris a few years ago. I wanna say it was maybe 3 hours? Definitely no longer than flying would have been when you factor in being there super early, and checking bags, then waiting for baggage claim etc. Plus we rode in First Class for about the same fees as flying, maybe even a little less.

I looked into taking the train from Germany to Italy, but the timing didn't work, it was going to cost me nearly a full 24 hours, flying was under 6.

I'd definitely do the train again.

I find it really quite an odd concept that people are able to hop on a train and get off the same train in another country.
