Solved FreePBX Ring over Paging System
-
We have a phone located in a busy plant (very noisy) - we would like to have the plant phone "ring" over the paging system, as even with the phone turned all the way up, no one can hear it. Anyone know of a way to do this?

I just need the paging system to "ring" when a phone rings.

A SIP ringer will work. Just give it an account and extension, and add it to a ring group.
The first review is a guy who is thrilled about how easy it was to setup on his FreePBX

Viking makes products that do this. I'm on PTO today and do not have my notes with me to see what we recommend for this.

Put one of these on the wall and attach it to the phone:
-
SNOM PA1
https://www.snom.com/en/ip-phones/broadcasting/public-address-system/$120 or so. Hook it up to the PA.
Besides ringing you can use it to announce as well.

I already have a SNOM PA1 - the question is how to make FreePBX “ring” the snom pa1 when the phone rings.

The Snom PA1 is a phone like any other phone. You could set the PBX up the same way you would on any other phone that you want to ring when a call comes in.
By default I think the PA1 is set to autoanswer, which you would need to disable if you just want it to ring.@JaredBusch knows how to get it all done properly in FreePBX.

@Pete-S unless he changed jobs, I already set their current system up to play a buzzer or wtfever sound on a schedule.
But you are correct. You make it ring. I would have to fuck with settings to verify how.
