Microsoft Says Organizations Should Use a Different Computer for Admin Tasks

Establish a separate device for administrative tasks that is updated and patched with the most recent software and operating system. Set the security controls at high levels and prevent administrative tasks from being executed remotely.

My friend does this type of thing at home with VMs now - games in his host machine - but surfs, etc in different VMs to protect things from each other.

Damnit. Might be a sound business decision(I don’t know), but I liked Cray.

Being a Huawei phone fan (well my current and last 2 have been them) not sure how to take this.

I know it won't take long to get a Modded version that will work on them.

Would you pay $1m for a laptop full of malware?

A laptop deliberately infected with six notorious strains of malware, including WannaCry and ILoveYou, is being auctioned in the US as an art project.

At time of writing, the highest bid for the device was $1.1m (£800,000).
The auction states that the Samsung laptop's internet connectivity will be disabled when the device is shipped to the auction winner.
The 11-year-old Notebook has been air-gapped - a security measure to isolate it from other networks.

Layer 8 failure. How is this a good idea?
