apparently it's happened a whole lot within the last week where it sets the date back to 1/31/2019 ever since that day..
      any Ideas on this?
goes back to 1/30/2019, yeah can see it in the event viewer too .
Kernel sets date/time to 1/31/2019 at 3:45 am

Per the other random thread this system isn't bound to a domain.

Is the system constantly resetting to the same date and time?

          Yes,

Then it goes to 3/3/2019, randomly as well.

@WrCombs oh I believed you. It might be worth it's own topic.

I've never seen this occur personally. I've had timezone issues in the past. Usually much older systems. But I've not experienced this.

It's crazy. I dont understand it.

Going to change the account policy and see if it's somebody is doing it.

Is it on the domain? Is the DC time correct? Servers and clients on the domain automatically use the DC time.

            Not a domain, It's on a workgroup

What's the time in the BIOS say (if it's a physical install)?

I've seen BIOS time issues before.

If it's a VM, what's the host time show?

            Should have posted this here.

So the system isn't just resetting to a time in the past but randomly jumping around?

                  yes, according to the events.

thinking it might be someone on site doing it, but times dont add up.

That kind of would make sense. I've manually had to change the clock on systems in the past to make some really awful software work. And reset it back again, for other things.

I've had to change the time to the past or distant future to get software that the business owned to work. From the devs they said "just change the date to X and it'll work for so many days etc".

This because their licencing dept was slow to provide licensing.

After the service is started, run this:

                                    w32tm.exe /resync /rediscover /nowait

                                      Run these in order:

                                      net stop w32time
                                      w32tm /unregister
                                      w32tm /register
                                      net start w32time

You may have to do the /register one twice... or hte unregister one... i forget which

                                      Service has been started

Okay, now just wait and see what happens. When will you know if it'll do it again? How often did it happen?
