@dbeato I've got mine coming up on New Year's Day. How are you doing yours?

Are you just going to replace the roof sometime soon? Or are you still visiting family?

Since this customer did not need DFS, I setup File Migration Toolkit and migrated it via Robocopy, It finalizes the migration after the amount of delta copies you want and then closes the shares on the sources server and enables it on the new server. The permissions are also migrated as well.

Been trying and trying. Contractors in Texas are insanely unreliable.

Yeah last time I did it was with Robocopy, but that was going physical to virtual. I've been reading about being able to just detach the .vmdk that hosts the shares and attach it to the new server. From there, permissions should follow and I'd just have to recreate the top level shares. I've tested this and it seems to work, but wanted to see the route you were taking. Thanks

yeah, mine was physical to Virtual. Now Virtual VMDK works well transferring to the new server and restoring the LamanServer Registry

Wondering how Adobe is still in business when they make it so hard to actually buy anything.

I have no idea how or why this was setup the way it was, but we apparently have to renew every year. We got the notice this morning. Our current license/subscription is good till the 5th, takes up to 5 days to renew. They have no place to actually complete a transaction to get that done on the management interface. Also, they are all out of the office till Jan. 3rd.
I've got some choice words for Adobe this morning, and I'm not allowed to use them here!

Definitely today, I have been yelling a Windows and Microsoft office many times! I do not like Windows at the moment...

Ha, that was me the previous Friday. Tried to install Office 2019 from the volume licensing center for the first time. You have to use the Office Installation Toolkit now. Really, why? (Besides the obvious pushing people to use only Office365 now.)

I just updated my OpenVPN AS server to 2.6.0.1. Then pushed the updated client via PDQ deploy to all systems that were on the network today. I also have a software installer GPO when people boot up while on the wifi.
Now I have to interview a potential candidate for the Jr IT Sys admin position.

just had to do a frantic hard drive swap on my laptop to my little brothers laptop because mine took a crap - power supply port I am thinking decided to stop working.
and My brother wasn't using his, and told me I could take it back.
Up and going on the laptop now, Man oh man, I was stressing. So on to other news, Back on call starting at 5:00 pm tonight,
Also looking for suggestions on Laptops that are out there, any suggestions on what to get? Let's say I have a budget of about $300 is the most I would like to spend, Will spend more if I see it necessary .
