I will have to give this a try.

Definitely give it a try and update us with a review. A lot of people interested in how well that works, I'm sure.

I tried this out this morning. The Docker container isn't responding to https/443 traffic, but is responding to http traffic. I'm assuming that's the cause of getting an error in my NextCloud11 install "ONLYOFFICE app not configured. Please contact admin". Haven't collected the relevant logs yet, so more info to come or as requested.

Did you ever get it working?

Nope. Haven't rolled back around to it as real life got in the way.

How To Forge has instructions today on how to integrate OnlyOffice into your NextCloud system.

Seems doing this costs. I'd rather just stay with O365.

Same here, but we are closer now. Might have it set up this week. Our setup is way more complex than most, apparently, and no guides cover how we are doing it.

So, they'll take your money, then give it back saying "oh, the website is wrong. It's actually free. Here's your money back."

No, just don't give it to them in the first place. Use the free version instead of the paid version.

I see pricing and "free trials" all over the place on their website. What exactly is free, and in what cases do you need to pay? Why pay when it's free then?

It seems like the only thing that is free is just the desktop editors themselves after you make an account and log in on their software. I think that was one I tried and just get bugged to buy it all the time.

                              The whole thing seems sketchy.

For support, of course. Same as with nearly anything.

Finding the free on their site isn't exactly hard. Take seconds. Just look for the community edition. Nearly all free products with paid support options call it that so that it is easy to find.

What is sketchy? It's super clear that it is free, it is under the AGPL so there can't be sketchy as it uses a public license that tells you everything that there is to know. If you don't like the site, you can get it all from GitHub, too. But their default download page is for the free versions, anyway.

The thing you are looking at is pre-installed products with partner products (like NextCloud) included in a system image.

About as far from sketchy as it can get. Clear that it is free both in what they say and in how they license. There isn't any portion that isnt free.

If you go look at their product listings, nearly every page points to a comparison of why you would pay when it is available for free...

                                      https://www.onlyoffice.com/compare-server-editions.aspx

And when mentioning the free version, they give you a "get it now" button to make it simpler to get the free version.

For me, there is no default download page. It just gives options for the different paid versions, or the free desktop app. Everything else leads to paying or trying out after inputting your info and making an account.

It is not obvious getting to those pages you linked. I actually can't find a way to end up there from their main page, following the obvious paths.
