      For those who do consulting work or any freelance IT work, in particular those who operate through their own LLC, do you carry liability insurance? If you do carry insurance, do you have both Errors and Omissions as well as General Liability? Have you deal with any insurance products that are tailored toward IT professionals?

        E&O is generally considered worthless in IT. It is easy for insurance companies to fight and never pay out, and carrying it makes you a litigation target. Without it, you often have more protections that with it. E&O is geared around software anyway, not IT. Very different things to insure.

          @scottalanmiller Some customers (Gov and larger shops) require it before they will sign you up as a vendor at all.

            @storageninja : Agreed. I have 3 clients that required at least 2M in E&O before they'd sign us.. I had to increase ours as we typically carry $1M.
