Just because he wants to doesn't mean that he can. I post pretty casually at a rate few can sustain.

AJ, you can take credit for me now testing the ignore function for the Water Closet. STFU and quit trying to win a stupid point count. ML has been nothing but white noise to me for the last two days.

The ignore/watch function works well. As soon as you hit it, the unread count updates.

                Be that way.

I am highly disappointed that I had to be that way.
The noise ratio was already high for that section, but still decently relevant more often than not. Now it is not.

I am certain I will miss interesting topics of discussion going forward.

I use http://mangolassi.it/recent to view the latest activity on ML, but most of it seems to be links to videos of cats and such like, posted in the water closet forum. Is there anyway to just view the IT-Discussions sorted by date of last posted, as it's only really IT I'm interested in - especially when I'm browsing during work and don't want to be sidetracked by a cute kitten.

I tried the Ignore function on the water closet forum, but threads are still appearing in the /recent page so I'm confused as to what that function is for?

The ignore forum function only affects the unread as far as I can tell.

It would be not needed for a individual forum if the posts were listed in last post order.

I honestly used the http://mangolassi.it/unread to check if there's a new post 🙂

Oh yeah, ignore the forum and use /unread instead of /recent. Works a treat. Thanks!

I am very surprised that there is no way, currently, to provide a sort order for a specific category. I don't have that available anywhere and the overall order cannot be modified. Hopefully that is another thing on the list for the developers to be looking at as they add new features. That would definitely be very handy. There need to be unread, recent, sort orders, searches, etc. unique to each category too.

They are not used to sites as large as this one but their own is getting pretty big so they will be feeling these pains soon too.

@scottalanmiller hopefully this will be a feature in a future release. They seem to come out with updates pretty often.

@scottalanmiller Is this a free platform? How are they making money on this, considering they have developers, etc?
