I'll post this here but maybe a separate thread is in order. Looking for a home dns filtering service. Who's left in the DNS filtering world? Strongarm.io appears to have gone to a commercial product and OpenDNS is now Cisco Umbrealla. Outside of PiHole and Symantec's ConenctSafe (and i HATE any Symatec product) anything else to look at?
Sorry, I will not willing give the government access to all of my DNS data.
I'll give ti to Google
Google? Government? What's the difference?
This is trolling correct? If you dont understand the difference, "I cant even". Unless youre being snarky that Google caves in to all Gmen for information requests unlike MS and Apple.
I may be misinformed. Please give me a reputable time that Google didn't give in to the government.
Apple did stand up to the FBI and the FBI went around Apple's safeguards and hacked the iPhone themselves.

That is also the first time Apple ever said no to a federal agency that I can remember. Their actual position was, we can't unlock his phone, but we can give you all his iCloud data.

Ahh, so we can't trust anybody. That's why open source will win in the end, imo.

Renewed cert on iis site, took 5 seconds. Set up auto renewal, see if that works in a couple months.

Which is pretty good actually. One they control and one they do not. While it isnβt perfect I think Apple has it right.

Thought about using a Raspberry Pi to create one, but:
- It would be pretty bulky
- I don't know enough about raspbian to make that work.
-
There was OpenMoko which was promising, but by the time the hw was chosen it was out of date and obsolete.
-
There was also a Ubuntu cell phone, that came with full desktop capabilities when connected to a monitor. But it was only sold in a few countries, and one of them wasn't the US.
The price was pretty steep as well since there was no subsidy or payment options.
