So no one here uses any of those shower timers or temperature controllers?
What purpose do they serve? other than the previously mentioned - kids stop screwing around - one?
Kids stop screwing around in the shower, taking 45 minute showers etc.
As pounding on the door or turning the water off (from the control in the basement) seems like over kill. Something that trickles the water after 8 minutes or so or changes it to cold water maybe.
As an adult, I can take as long a shower as I like
Of course, this however isn't the issue in my house, I have a foreign exchange student, that has been starting to take excessively long showers (draining my hot water heater) and is otherwise being a pain in the ass.
So I'm looking for technical ways to correct this behavior.

Eh well I guess but more importantly ways that the significant other won't want to murder our exchange student. . .
