Connecting to SonicWall VPN on Fedora

I connected to the SonicWALL's https://ip:4433, downloaded NetExtender, and installed it on my Korora 25 laptop. It opens up and seems to work fine, however does not connect with the error:

Connection failed.  Check log for details.

Is this one of those extra paid features in the SonicWALL, or is there something I need to enable for my user account?

Also, where is the log? I don't see anything in /var/log

I just noticed there's 3 small buttons at the bottom of the NetExtender GUI window... one of them is Logs, another is preferences.

I'm going to check them out now.

3 things:

SSLVPN is a paid feature, looks like (perhaps by default) there's two for free.
The answer was in the log; the default port was being used.
Specified the correct port after the IP, and it connected just fine.

It is a paid feature with some small number being part of the purchase license.

One final note:

The SonicWALL NetExtender GUI works great on Korora 25.

The netExtenderGui does not work when I tried it on Fedora 26 MATE, Gnome, and Cinnamon. However, the CLI works fine (/usr/sbin/netExtender), no issues with that on all the above, connects just fine.

To make it faster to launch, I made a launcher that runs the following command in terminal:

sudo /usr/sbin/netExtender

Once Korora 26 is released, I'll most likely be loading that.

@tim_g What sort of performance are you getting with the NetExtender client? Whether it be Windows or Korora 26, speeds are horrid. Copying a large .iso file is currently running around 64Kb/s. Office connection is 50/50 fiber and home is 25Mbps Comcast. Seems like I should definitely be gettingbetter than that.

I had have it on Fedora 26 and works perfectly, and also works perfectly still after upgrading to Fedora 27. (for Gnome, KDE, and Cinnamon)

Performance wise, I get what it's supposed to be, same an any other VPN means through Windows.

It sure beats their other SonicWall global VPN client software for Windows.

@zachary715 if you are getting extra slow speeds from it, I wouldn't know why.

Do you have the routes set up right for it on the sonicwall?
