... which are not to be confused with the Phantasy Star Online games that blow goats. =P

I think that that is an actual mission in Goat Simulator.

Talk about a game that blows goats.

@grey I played Everquest for 14 years before pretty completely getting away from it. A little part of me died when the RP died on Firiona Vie where I had always played. Some of the best RP I've ever seen/done in any setting was on that server over the years. I did the raid thing, actually completed all content up to the point at the time, and then slowly got out after selling my gear and making back every penny I had ever spent on the game and then a little bit (both subscription costs and game/expac costs).

This was wow for me. I ended up selling my account for about 5k when I was done, (my main was named mugzirogue and was a top 10 rogue world wide).

@quixoticjeremy Nice! I got up to being the top Ranger for about 6 weeks in Everquest, but since we operated with a loot council in my guild, I got bumped down due to others being more favored. I still hovered around top 10-15 for a few months, but I just got burnt out with the brutal 4-6 hours raiding 5 days a week after working 80+ hour weeks at work at the time.

Haha yeah it's rough. My guild (immortality) was always chasing world firsts. For example when black temple came out we hit that raid for 14 hours straight, ended up finishing I think it was 1 min 30 seconds behind Nihilum. After the BC expac it all went down hill though. They started catering to the casual player and that's fine but it definitely diminished the value of the game for me.

@quixoticjeremy Only for one, relatively brief period over the entire time I played MMOs was I ever in a guild that was pushing world-firsts. It was brutal, and part of what burned me out on Everquest, even though I up to that point had loved it.

Little-known fact - The lore and story for Everquest was actually pretty bloody good! It's the biggest reason I also played WoW for as long as I did too. Yeah, I was kind of a serial-MMO-player for a while... including dual-boxing Everquest on two separate characters, often in different raids while playing WoW simultaneously. I was pretty nuts back in the day lol. =P

edit: Also though no, I didn't bot.. I was just crazy lol

LOL popular stuff when it happened. 14 million players was a big deal at the time! Plus as a Raid Leader it was like a constant puzzle, moving/instructing 40 different players to defeat massive Raid Bosses to race other guilds to finish. It was extremely competitive amongst top guilds.

Still not so bad as when I was playing Shadowbane after that went free to play. 3 computers, 10 characters, nothing running on a bot.

@travisdh1 Hats off to you travis, you can keep the trophy, the cake, and all that lol. I was working food service at the time, no way I was ever going to afford another computer (I did have a laptop and desktop at the time though). Hell, I got into playing MMOs because it was SOOO much cheaper to play them at the time than it was to play consoles or other PC games at $30-$50 apiece, and I would blow through 2/month or so.

Watched a girlfriend play through most of that game a few years ago on a console, was pretty interesting other than the shizzy driving mechanics.

In the unlikely event you didn't know, Psychonauts is free on HumbleBundle for the next day and change.
