Watching the Apple Special Event. I just got the Apple Watch they better not release a new one.
One of these days I need to get myself a smart watch. Will need to look and see whats available for android.
I'm considering the FitBit ionic for Christmas
Also very slick, I think I prefer the Asus ZenWatch but this one is nice too.

In today's "News Of The Stupid": Got a few alerts that someone was trying to access a blocked site. I go look, it's the receptionist trying repeatedly to access something on Yahoo (everyone here knows that Yahoo has been blocked for a long time). I can't tell exactly how many times she reloaded/refreshed the "This page blocked by your administrator" page before she realized that the page was blocked by her administrator....
What was this crucial info that she so desperately needed?
Look back a page or two.... It's a google search for.....
.
.
.
wait for it....
.
.
.
."What is 5.8"
.
.Yes, that was the exact search string, and apparently the only answer that mattered was on yahoo answers.
I need a very STRONG drink, and maybe 1 free "execute anyone you want to" card. I can't believe that someone with an IQ of maybe 35-40 is answering our phones. I can't figure out who reminds her to breathe (but I wish they would stop).

I do, however, applaud our company for hiring the mentally insufficient.

Well what is 5.8?! We need to know.
What was Yahoo's answer?!

The two things she tried to click were: "What is 5.8 as a fraction?" and "5.8 as a percent". If you have to google this, you have zero business with a real job, and you certainly should not have reproduced.
Oops, too late on that second point. Take that, collective gene pool.

Tried to help with the SW Daily Quiz as so many of the questions are just clearly wrong. This is what I got nuked for saying after the moderator clearly moved into just mocking the community as idiots.
The amount that they think their users are morons is palpable. Zero respect for the community, zero respect for the profession. They deleted this when I called out their official moderator for how he was treating the community when on TWO threads in a row he clearly said he didn't care that the questions were wrong. They have a whole process for reporting them, but then a totally non-technical person just... officially ignores the feedback and puts whatever they want up there for whatever agenda they have.
-
Which this all started when I reported this totally BS, gibberish question that clearly was written by a monkey repeating words from wikipedia and not knowing what any of it meant...
"Quite clearly the gibberish answer. I figured out that he got this from misreading Wikipedia as his reference doesn't include the necessary info and it makes no sense. If you go to wikipedia, this is nothing to do with cloud but is non-IT composable design. On Wikipedia, that stateless is a requirement of composable is "citation needed" and the sentence directly following that one that is NOT citation needed, directly defines it by stating plainly that stateful is an option. Making the question not just completely wrong as per its answer, but utterly nonsensible as the stateless/stateful bit has nothing to do with composable theory and is just gibberish pulled from an obviously incorrect wikipedia article with enough info in it that even just reading the one stateless bullet point alone lets you know that the article doesn't make sense and hasn't been checked. "

So I let them know and was led to a group place to discuss the issues. I found thread after thread of people pointing out completely wrong questions and being shot down based on totally bogus reasoning like "we just don't care" or whatever. People had valid "this question doesn't mean what it says" or "I can prove that there is no right answer" and consistently got a "we don't care that it is wrong, we like it as it is" responses most of the time. Sickening.

I don't know why I try to be helpful, always results in someone getting pissed off that I cared because it undermines some ulterior motive.
-
@scottalanmiller a few of us have advised you to give that nonsense up, even if just for a week or two. You'll be shocked at how little you miss it (one would hope).

Are things working again? Some people said that they coudl not post?

Looks like we have a database problem, no one log out. People who are logged in seem to be fine. but there is something with the tokens and once logged out, no one seems to be able to log in.

Long time, I liked them back when I used to white box. And for a long time they built HP's good desktop gear for them. It was Asus under the hood in their best years.
