Solved Help me understand Cloudstack and Openstack use scenario

Hello,
So I have been reading and seeing videos about both and it seems both projects are not needed for SMB.
For example they are just an extra layer of virtualization on top of the hyper visor adding complexity yet generalizing the underneath, its like LVM for storage, and extra layer to make management easier.
And a way to group hypervisors... I guess, but if you have dozen hypervisor that you manage easily, why would you this, especially since VMware has tools to manage multiple ESXi nodes the appliance. However not KVM.
So those CS and OS make it faster and easier to manage alot of virtualization nodes, but they are only needed if you are +20 virtualization hyper-visor nodes ? correct ?

Cloud, across the board, doesn't apply to the SMB. It's a technology specifically build for scale.

These specifically add complexity, but not additional virtualization. What they specifically add is an API. That's the key difference.

Cloud is about the API, not about how many nodes. You are looking at scaling from the perspective of the platform engineer. But cloud is about scaling from the perspective of the systems engineer. This is a case where getting these terms specific matters a lot - a system admin uses cloud technologies to facilitate horizontal application and system scaling. Platform engineers are not assisted by cloud tech, they provide cloud to the systems people.
The technologies that you are looking at to make your life easier are to address complexities that you have at the platform layer. So it is the wrong type of problem to be looking to address with cloud.

No wonder I can never find that option when I want it!
