Whats the easiest/cheapest way to ship Ebay orders? (In the U.S.)
-
Half of my garage is half full of IT/Technology stuff, some new in the box but a lot of it open/used, etc. Most of it is from new office business split that ended in a buyout, so a lot of stuff ended up in my garage. Some of it is new in the box but most of it is used. So for the used stuff I am trying to figure out packaging and who to ship through.
I have mostly dropshipped or used our UPS shipper account to send things out. Even then the front desk girl was a master packer/shipper. So am I trying to decide the most streamlined way to do all this.
Is there Fedex/USPS packing/shipping services when you walk in the store? Or do I need to source all my packing materials and just ship through the cheapest route?
If pre-packaging is best I have a whole weekend and 4 kids who I am sure are eager to help daddy out...

Bag it, tag it,... wrap it in bubble - box and go. Most UPS stores will do both USPS and UPS, and will have all the packing material you need. Some - will even do all the handling for you as well...

I have a UPS Store around the corner. For a fee they will pack as well as ship. I only use them occasionally so I do not know the costs

ebay shipping is nice if you plan on packaging and printing labels yourself. I believe they only work with USPS (which is the cheapest for almost everything AFAIK). I know other people that use stamps.com, I never have, as ebay was free and did everything I needed it to do.
You can buy the labels on amazon, and plenty of other places, pretty cheap and load them in your laser/inkjet printer.
Here is the super-secret single package shipping link. The multi-shipper thing is also useful, just not as easy as the single label IMO.
It was always far cheaper to package everything yourself, so we packaged everything, printed a label, and dropped it off at the post office by our house.

So my first ebay sale was some guy in Chili trying to get me to ship something to Miami, FL. From recent reading online about the current scams apparently Ebay will let me ship the package and then protect the scammer when claims he never got it.
When I refunded it he kept wanting to call me on WhatsApp or Facetime. Not sure what the angle was going to be once he got me on the phone.

I do a fare amount of international shipping. Several South American countries use middle shippers in Florida to shuttle things back and forth due to super long shipping times and lost mail issue.
I'm lucky since I know most parties involved, so there is nearly zero risk to me.
