Basic config of ERL = done (interface config and NAT on outside interface).

      Next is firewall config.

<--- geeking out over the new toy.

Umm these should all be done by the wizard. If not, you did it wrong, start over.

Ha! I wasn't presented a wizard, so I got to work building a configuration. I'll nuke and use a wizard this time. I'll be curious to see how the configurations compare.

You updated, right? This used to be a problem that if you didn't update and you got old stock, the firmware would be so old that it predated the wizards. Hard to believe that that could still be a problem, though.

It's on updated firmware now. About to blow it away and start over. Shouldn't take me long.

And now I have pizza. I may not have beer, but at least I have pizza!

I have had so much pizza in the last week I think I am dreaming of pizza... ugh.

Wish I knew how many files were on this USB drive.. we are at 22,560 and still going. Thus far it is pulling everything. But we will see.... yawn time to go see what's in the DVR - tired of Netflix.....

That's a lot of files for a USB drive, for sure.

Last Chechen - within 15 min- some 72,000 recovered files from the drive.

Looks like either a long night waiting or starting early to beat the user in.....

Functioning again and looking at the differences between my poking-around config and the wizard's config.

Yeah. Attention to detail failure. That being said, my dealings with the ASDM does evoke a bit of fear of firewall wizards. 😛 Once I found it, it wouldn't allow me to run the basic setup wizard, so nuking and starting over was the only option. All is good now 🙂

Just signed up for Sodium to play around with it a bit.

Nice, it's a busy evening of Sodium!

Although ML is distracting me from my work!

Wait - work? pffft... ML is better.

A back up is only as good as a tested restore... I'll let him sort out testing.. next time don't pull the USB drive - dang users.
