This is a general question. If your department consists of three people. Two of them go into a meeting. Leaving the third one to cover the department. Then the third one is suppose to be off at a certain time but their meeting goes over, and no one tells the third person anything. Leaving the third person to cover the department past their clocking out time, is that rude? Also the third person has recently acquired a temporary medical condition that wears them out during the day.

I think it depends on the situation. Do those people control the meeting? Are they in a position to communicate from it? Does the third person have an obvious insight into the state of the meeting?

Yes they control the meeting. Yes they are in a position to communicate from it. Yes the third person does have insight into the meeting.

Perhaps the third person should walk over to the conference room, walk in, and communicate that he/she must leave immediately due to medical conditions.

@Tim_G The third person would but they know that would be frowned upon for interrupting the meeting.....

Too bad. Medical condition > meeting.

They had an appointment for a meeting, you have an appointment too. Lack of efficiency on their part does not mean an emergency on yours.

I agree with this, except that @QuestionAccount should've let the team know "Hey I must leave at X'oclock, if you're hear or not"

That's the bigger issue. It's frowned upon to communicate necessary information? That's a more core problem.

Seems like they could have handled that better. Sounds like perhaps the real issue is that the environment is a little bit toxic. Too many "they'd see this as rude" things that leave them free to do whatever they want.
