Yes, I see it everyday at our office. Usually I end up restarting the workstations because there is no way. I actually encouraged users to use Internet Explorer or Chrome as I work in a medical practice (I setup a default XML file for all my users to use Chrome as the default web browser).

Restarting fixed it for you? It didn't for me.

@Dashrender Yes, also the KB4015217 for Windows 10 1607 also helped. But I honestly use a workaround with another browser because it happens all the time.

Well, being in medical - you know how how some doctors will be.

@Dashrender Yes, it is a constant change and it needs to be done like "now" with emphasis on NOW!!"

Is the issue only occurring when trying to print to "Microsoft print to PDF"?

The free FoxIt Reader includes a PDF printer, which we use widely and haven't had any trouble with (yet).

@Tim_G If you see that error on Edge it will happen with all the printers.

I switched it to the PDF printer in the hope that it would work, but sadly, the whole subsystem of UWP printing seemed to be down.

I see, yeah that's a different issue than the one I thought. I haven't seen that yet.

As more and more of my clients are using cloud based applications that rely on a browser, I find myself creating desktop icons that open a particular browser for a particular site. The least compatible browser is Edge. Chrome usually wins, but I have a few sites that need Internet Explorer. Once I figure out which browser the site works in, I copy the browser icon and rename it to the site name. Then in properties, I paste the url on the end of the command line. It's quick and if they change their default browser, the site will still open in the browser I specified.

When is the last time you used Edge? I find it is better than IE, and almost as good as Chrome and Firefox for normal website functionality.

Today was the last time I ran in to a site that wouldn't work in Edge. Two different sites. One was a NYS site. The second was ControlCenterX from libdata.com

The later uses extensions? Which are brand new to Edge. The former is probably just coded for IE6.

@JaredBusch That is right, most sites work well with Edge. Usually only applications that require IE are the only ones that have problems with Edge and also affect other browsers such as Firefox and Chrome.
