It is automatic. Curtis was specifically disallowed by the CM at the time for whatever internal reasons. I was not part of that discussion and have no idea. I only know that because it was posted later and I read that post. I do not know if he had it and was removed or what. I don't care, honestly. But it most certainly is automatic.
I was told at the time that it was selective and he didn't get it. It was always secret when I was involved and from all I can tell, remains secret. Where is it announced if it is not secret? No one seems to know about it still. The fact that we are having this discussion is because someone didn't know

There are public posts (watercooler) specifically mentioning the spicy peppers group going back to at least 2014. if not before. It is not secret.
That's someone telling a secret, it's still officially secret AFAIK. It's not officially spoken of.

You were calling the Ubiquiti UNMS public because there is public but not announced information about it.
You cannot have it both ways, just because you like calling this one secret because you don't like the Spicy Pepper group. Also your timeline for "at the time" is horrible old. You have been self recused for years and things change constantly. maybe in the very first couple year it was not automatic. But it has been since before I hit Thai a long ass time ago.

It was PUBLIC. On Github. That is totally public. The SP is not public, you can't get to it. If you are not in the private club you can't see the posts. That's the polar opposite of the Github situation.

But as a non-SP, it remains secret. It's invisible, announced nowhere and never spoken of that we see in the community. I post on there as much as anyone and it never comes up, ever. And people ask about it all the time in places like this where someone hints about it and it turns out that people don't know about it.
Even if it is automatic, which is marginal at best as it is "automatic with a filter", that doesn't change it from being private (it's the definition of private) and secret (it's a kept secret and kept so that the public cannot see it and has never been officially exposed). That the secret has been spilt is not the same as not being a secret.

LOL, sometimes we sound like Hank and John.

This again? Myself and @scottalanmiller are almost guaranteed to be distantly related somehow, in addition to your suspicions about @JaredBusch. It's great fun when they disagree about things tho.

More Curtis insanity. Did you know that VoIP uses on 6kb/s (NOT 6Kb/s). What is a kb anyway? K is Kilo. He makes a point that he doesn't mean that.

Already in moderation.
That is so funny lol. . . I didn't even use any adult words, just poked fun, and wished I could program printers again. Man that job was the bomb (way back in the day)

Perfect example of someone giving me misinformation yet again. I was told that VLAN's are supposed to be used for VoIP QoS
