No, and glue won't work well either after a few times.

        Something like this product

Except for connecting to cables together..

Maybe just an cheap electrical box with the ends open...

Drill the adapter for a set screw to land where the two square recesses are on the HDMI cable. Use a hard drive screw that uses a T8 head like many hard drives use.

That is just using a zip tie. Anyone can cut that with a pocket knife.

A critical thing I didn't think of, until just now is the connector needs some room to move around (within the desk space).

@DustinB3403 this is employee only space? Then make it a policy / HR issue. Install a camera if desired on the work space.

@JaredBusch Yeah I know. Was just trying to get an idea of something.

But really it needs to be a box, with the hdmi ends inside of it, while not being a nuisance to use (and midly portable) for the desk area

We already have policy (and I totally agree) but that is a management issue. So I only have the option of looking at physical security.

You can find smaller boxes than an electrical box. get one of those and then use zip ties to hold the connector together and then glue the box shut with the ends sticking out.

Yeah just putting some thought into this.

electrical box thought (if I could find something smaller) would be to install the parts, and then secure the box with cable clamps (thing electrical box cable holders you thread into the box) and just use that.

If a small enough box can be found..

@JaredBusch you said "get one of those" did you have a link to something in mind?

Is this more to keep people from accidentally thinking the adapters came out of their bag when they pack up? A box around it with your company logo on it will make it clear.

We used to have something like this at the highschool I worked at for dvi-vga adapters. It was like a wire cage that had a tamper-resistant screw to hold it together.

Yes that is exactly the idea.

Just tried to google up a link for you. but everything comes back electrical.

What you want to look at is the plastic cable raceway stuff. They typically have some smaller junction boxes also.

Depending on the size of your HDMI cable that plugs into that adapter, a single gang box may be the right size.

                                  Edit: here

All of these are massive compared to the lightning adapter.

@JaredBusch the HDMI is a standard HDMI cable that connects.

The box needs to be at most 2 inches wide and 1 inch tall. And then of course some method to easily swap the lightning adapter if it does fail.

I think I found something that will work.

                                      Putting two of these together

                                      Would likely do the trick.

Install the one end on the cable side of the lightning adapter, and then the other on the HDMI cable.

Of course with the release tab, it could still be stolen.

But nothing will prevent theft. We just have to try to deter it.

For the wire, you may have to 'fabricate' your own.

Well I found something else which might work too...

Which while not preventing theft, could be used...
