1 displayport 2 monitors
-
I know the Display port 1.2 support multi stream, but is anyone actually using it?
I'm picking up a computer with an ATI FirePro V4800 and it says "With two DisplayPort outputs and one dual-DVI output, Multi-View enables up to six displays with independent display resolution, refresh rate, and display rotation settings"

I would rather run Dual Display Ports on this PC,.. but haven't picked up the cable yet. So I'm running my three monitors is a bit of an odd way.
- One Display Port
- One HDMI
- One VGA
I so need to drop the VGA and go with the dual DisplayPort cable.

Yes I'm doing it - I purchased a y splitter for my HP Prodesk 600 units. The desktop has one port and is driving two (extended view) monitors.
I think I had some issues early on, but a BIOS update fixed them.

Do you know if you replicate two of the monitors and have the third one extended?
-
Now you want to add a third monitor?
The HP specs 2 years ago indicated that the DP port supported only 2 monitors. I'm not sure how you would get a third display on this particular machine.
I do believe that it has a VGA port as well, so I could probably get a third monitor on the VGA.

This is for the video steaming project. I actually want to drive 4 monitors. One monitor displaying my sources, and 3 monitors displaying the output. Those three need to all display the same thing. (duplicated) I'm trying not to add any more splitters than I need to.

Whoops... Then I may not have a DisplayPort...

They make a 4 port adapter, I don't know the requirements to use it though.

Oh - It does have an HDMI port,.. just not sure of the other once,..
It's this port:
-
@gjacobse That is DVI
-
@JaredBusch Thanks
-
Those other two look like Display Port, but that could be the angle, so I suppose they could be HDMI.

I agree - but they are display ports,.. the left side of the connecter / and bracket are cut at a 45deg,.. but the right side is not. But hey - don't listen to me,.. I was confused as to what the DVI port was.
