Muting a Thread Instead of People

There have been a lot of requests for muting today and it's something that we would love to have but, AFAIK, NodeBB doesn't have on the roadmap yet. Even SW took many years to have that one after it was suggested. So sadly, no, you cannot mute someone today. You can, however, mute a thread so that it does not throw at alert. Not the same thing, I know, but it can be helpful.
If you have a thread that you need to not hear alerts from, go to the bottom of the thread and look for the bell ...
Set to "Not Watching".

Feel free to post over there on their forum. But as we are not hosted on their hosting service, it doesn't carry much weight. But it does carry some and I'm sure lots of people have mentioned it. The real issues are always about prioritization, not if a feature is worth having.

Or better yet, go into your settings and turn off watching as a default.
