A small story about creating a startup in France

Have 7 min to read something?
Here is some bits about Vates, the startup behind Xen Orchestra: https://medium.com/@olivier.lambert/building-a-tech-startup-in-france-cc369c0865db#.wpayxisd7
Sorry about my English in this article, but I wanted to share this story here

I liked it. Really good story and insight into just how hard it is.

Thanks! If you find sub-optimal phrasing or errors in the text, feel free to report

I think the English was pretty good throughout.
"At the end, it's still human interactions..."
That's my favorite line out of the whole article!
-
My favorite was...
"Techosaurus asking if Xen Orchestra can run on a Cray Super Computer. True story"
-
It a very interesting writeup.
I have found, both in real life, and also pseudo real-life (like on shows such as Shark Tank) that EVERYONE has a great idea. But not all of those ideas are good businesses. And few can bridge the gap between the two.
-
@olivier good write up. The fact that you are profitable in under 3 years is also awesome.

Thanks @JaredBusch
In fact, the "real" commercial start of XO was in May 2015 (when we had enough features in XOA Enterprise to sell it). Our first client was in November 2014, but more to support us than really enjoy a product ^^Also, I'll wirte more "positive" posts after this one, because a lot of people told me it was a bit negative and not enough detailed about my criticism against some participant of the story.

While I enjoyed it, I didn't get any feeling you were really targeting one thing or person.

Some people did ^^ Hard to not be controversial when you explain your own experience with your own eyes.
