Making a Bootable USB Stick on Linux Mint 17.3
-
With today being the big day for installing Windows 10, it is a perfect time to look at ISO handling on Linux Mint! If you have downloaded an ISO file to Linux Mint, making a bootable USB stick is extremely easy. Everything that is needed is built right into the interface. We just need to find our downloaded ISO file, insert our USB stick and right click on the ISO to get started.
Click Write and away you go. Very easy.

You have to love linux for making things like this so simple.
With Windows you'd have to find a third party tool to write the ISO, and after 30 minutes of stumbling through malware laden websites you find one that works.
Nice and simple on the linux side.

For the sake of the thread - those on Windows - use Rufus to create a bootable USB stick from the ISO.

I use Rufus as well, i have personally never had any issue with it.

I've been using YUMI from within Windows.
If I want more than a single distro on a single usb stick, I'll even use it in Linux, just because it's so much easier/quicker to do.

Been using Mint for the last few days, and I actually LOVE it!
I used Ubuntu for a while, but man Linux Mint is just easier and more streamlined...

Yumi has also been my tool of choice when creating bootable usbs. I really like having several distros and tools easily available without the need to carry around several sticks.

it's really great. I've been on it for nearly a year and what a difference it makes.
