Yahoo! Sold to Verizon

They have been my home page for years. I have looked for a new one, but never found one that gives me what they offer. As crazy as that sounds.

... and Marissa Mayer wants to stay.

I tried to use Yahoo! for this and that over the years, I always kind of liked them, especially when they owned Zimbra. But more and more, I just can't find anything that they do well. Yahoo! Finance, I guess

In case Verizon wants to fire a few people? Just asking... But I guess the best part of yahoo is their investment portfolio in the Asian market.

Yahoo! Japan is huge. Not sure how much is owned by Yahoo itself though. A lot of Japanese integrations are mostly Japanese companies.

Looks like 36.4% Softbank and 35.5% Yahoo according to a cited WIkipedia article.
This is interesting:
Since 2010, Yahoo! Japan's search engine has been based on Google's search technology. In exchange, Google receives user activity data from Yahoo! Japan's various products.
