Will the data clients are uploading contain account numbers passwords etc? Or is this just bookkeeping type data?

Would a nextCloud type server be an option?

Most obvious question... any reason that email does not work?

I don't think the accountant can tell all his clients to change platforms.

It would be to their benefit.

Why? No more extremely pricey, outdated, inconvenient software to use seems like a win-win to me.

Would turn the accountant into a valuable consultant rather than just benefiting from their clients' bad choices 🙂

Can't email because the files are too large for some of the clients to email.

Can't force clients to change platforms because most of the 60 year olds that pay an accountant to do their taxes would go to a different accountant before changing the way they do things....

We have been using it now for almost a year. Really happy with it. It isn't free but more robust than WAVE (as we had outgrown it).

I've been using Wave, but if someone asked me how it integrates with their credit card machine or software like Donorperfect I don't know where I would start.

Chances are Wave will not work with specialized software. However Xero very well may. But again older clients older CPA. So stick with what they know.

Have you looked at Dropbox? I'm fairly certain they have the function to do anonymous uploads.

Does the accountant have the ability to access Sharepoint sites? You could probably build a quick form to allow file uploads.

Does the accountant want a service or a product?

Doesn't Nextcloud offer a "drop off" type option?

Currently, I run a ZendTo server to securely exchange files with clients.

Yes, dropbox will work. I didn't know if anyone found a way to do the same thing with OneDrive or something better.

I know there is a file submission form on Sharepoint team sites. That would interact with OneDrive... just not sure how much extra work it would be.
