Sad as it is, our 768k/356k DSL is better than the satellite connection we started with that would be capped to 56k after a couple days into the billing cycle.

I think they're kind of overloaded at the moment, I did get the automated response mail, basically "You're ticket is in the system, now hold your horses and get in line behind everyone else."

Looks a whole lot like a peering dispute to me currently. Comcast, you had 1 job, and you failed at that. Stupid monopoly on connections around here.

Looks like their support system is falling over as well. I got a confirmation email, but the status page still says "Currently unable to retrieve data, please try after some time." I'm going home and dropping it till tomorrow.

Holy eff. How do you do anything on 768k? You probably get ISOs faster by purchasing the DVD than downloading it. (Sarcasm for those unable to detect it).

Oh I would definitely be tempted to.pirchase DVDs. I can't imagine getting a bad checksum after waiting that long.

Can't you get a fiber circuit from someone? We were able to get WindScream fiber in our one dsl branch office. Yes I know Windstream ranks right up there with comcrap but the speed made the difference and we got them to waive construction costs.

All my big downloads are done at a different locations, where I normally work out of. That one actually has 10M/1M.

Fiber circuit, sure, if we pay to run it 30 miles. A T1 would only be ~5 miles. Both would be a lot more expensive as well.

We used to have a WISP around, but they were bought out and filed chapter 13 bankruptcy 4 years ago.
