DroneRacing is arguably one of the most awesome "sports" of racing.
Rather than being stuck to the ground (normally) you're racing your drown in the air 3D space, where you can literally crash into anything.
How awesome is that?!

@DustinB3403 My "racing" model wouldn't be regulation I don't think. 150mm frame and 4000kv motors make for a bit of unfair competition.

The wrecks will never be as glorious as Nascar until they are racing 2 ton drones around the track.

The wife did say the other night how good would it be to arm the drones and have "drone wars". But somehow don't think Health and Safety would approve anywhere!

Why? Those plastic blades explode on contact. I suppose if you upgraded to metal blades...

I was thinking about something like laser tag. The pilot could shoot and disable a drone in mid air for a fraction of a second. This could throw off the other pilot. Anki Overdrive, which is surprisingly fun, has this type of "combat".
