Was the great Rochester Ice Storm. Many of us lived through it. 3 March 1991.

I see see if I can find the snow storm of 97 in Omaha. The snow was so heavy that trees all over the city had limbs broken off and killed a lot too.

@art_of_shred and I were out of school for TWO WEEKS from that storm. And that's western NY where snow never qualifies for a day off from school. That's a school that let students die in bad weather (three or four in a single day, once) while trying to get to school rather than close.

We lost 1/3rd of all trees. Not branches, the whole trees came down. It was devastating to the forests of the area. It's been 25 years and the woods where I am from is only starting to recover. It's visibly a very different place than it was in my childhood with a different tree ration and everything.

I'm not sure how many we lost, I'm sure less than 1/3, but it was pretty devastating around here as well.

I lived through it, I was just a kid, and we had something like 6 days off from school.
