I've not even seen a device with USB-C yet. 🙂

Nor I, If it wasn't for @JaredBusch thread earlier today,.. I would not have know for a while still. And some of the articles go back to the first part of 2015..

I searched, but saw no mention here on ML...

              Man you're out of the loop @gjacobse !! 🙂

2016/7 will see USB-C dominate - it'll become the defacto standard for laptop chargers, cellphone chargers - you name it, it'll be USB-C

Which I agree is awesome. This USB-A, USB Mini, USB this, Lightning and all is crazy.. I prefer to not have so many cables..

I also would prefer they figure out how to use the magnetic for the connector so you could just pull it and not worry about breaking connectors.

@gjacobse I actually have plans to make my own custom cables (USB) with a mag safe break in the middle like that

Curious... like to hear more about this,.. and see what you come up with. I've hacked up a few cables and added my own connectors to a device or two in my day.

@gjacobse I think it's the xbox? controllers that have a magsafe breakaway thing, and I believe they're USB internally. Should be straightforward to hack up and solder in.

My Polar Loop has a magnetic connector (not in the middle but at the device itself). It's pretty nice.

With a 3d printer and some neodynium magnets, that should be "easy". I quote easy because I was doing 3d design stuff for a while.

Are you a parametric or direct modelling kind of guy?

Direct modelling. Lysdexia makes parametric way to dangerous.
