If I had gobs of money and needed an outlet, I'd probably buy investments that I found "fun" like restaurants, bars and real estate.

Completely agree. I wouldn't mind owning a Chipotle so I could eat there for free.

I think the thing to do is dump it into a high interest earning account for 6 months to a year to really figure out what you really wanted to do with it (Business as usual & don't tell anyone). Filter out all the whimsical wants.

Once you've sorted out what to do with it, make it so...

In the US, a high interest account still loses to inflation.

              Really? A chipotle?

We have a local single location place called the Rail Yard. Their menu changes constantly. I think I'd go for a place like that, then I can have whatever I want. lol

Hit a huge lottery - I used to think I'd buy fancy car or two - but then I realized I'd never be home. I'd be like Scott - I'd be living all over the world.

Frankly I'm envious as hell of his current lifestyle. šŸ™‚ Though, My wife wouldn't accept it.

lol I am a bit sometimes too but ultimately I'd just end up lonely and come back home. I want all of the travel with none of the working - just see and experience new stuff in a new place for a month, then return home.

And that is 80% the reason I quit driving a truck for a living..... now it looks like I'll need to find a job programming the computer to drive them šŸ˜›

Not married I assume? or are you assuming that I would travel like that without her? lol

                      I would not.

I do have one huge thing on that loneliness factor though, through my Star Wars group I have friends all over the world, the exception is Africa and Antarctica. I have at least 30 countries I could visit and know someone through my group, and it's probably a lot more than that.
