Revert Windows 10: Process
-
Well - I suppose it was bound to happen. Client doesn't like Window 10.
Some of the issues:
- Roaming Profiles don't work correctly
- Start menu Drive tiles, don't remember / sync.
- Performance
- IE / Chrome Profiles don't sync
So - Rolling the first of about 7 work stations backwards to Windows 7 or 8/8.1.
This should be fun.

I did find this:
-
That's going to be a huge pain. Pretty much just do fresh installs.

@scottalanmiller
Fresh installs are always my preference... but I don't get to always take that path. -
If you didn't do a fresh install after upgrading to windows 10, no wonder they hate it.
-
Seriously, if you end up having to fresh install, try fresh installing windows 10 first and see if those other problems go away.

@Dashrender
From what I know from the client,.. it's the sync that is the biggest issue. From what I have read, MS stopped doing a full profile sync with WIndows 10,.. so settings saved in the \user\appdata are ignored.That was enough for him..
And then to add that he's added tiles to the start menu and they don't sync and aren't always there upon sign in.

Without testing it I have no clue.
What is in app data that is so important?
Assuming that MS has removed that, has the client asked you to start their migration to something else plans? MS discontinues security patches in 2020 for win 7. They either need to find solutions to these problems now or really they should be looking to migrate. Lol

Just putting it out there for the sake of it.
You can run the User State Migration Tool...
