CloneZilla moving to a smaller disk
-
Crappy workaround. There should be an option in the clone disk dialog to basically do this as long as used partition sizes are small enough.
-
Too much trouble. I'd just use something else.

In the past, I've created same-sized VHD's in Windows, cloned to it (albeit not with Clonezilla) and then shrunk the VHD afterwards. It's not the fastest procedure in the world, but it works.

i want only to inform you about my experience with clonezilla, it is very risky to use it, couple of weeks ago i tried to take a system image of one of my workstation, after doing so: the system cannot boot, i lost everything and i was obliged to format the computer, it was really a bad experience believe me guys

I don't know what it is with CloneZilla, when I use it I have to copy the drive twice. The first time will never boot, but the second time everything works fine.

I've been using it to clone machines for 7 years. In that time I've probably cloned nearly 200 times and probably had problems 2 or 3 times.
@IT-ADMIN , are you using any of the special switches during your cloning?

only one time i clone a workstation to a network shared folder and after cloning the system cannot be booted

when you are running clonezilla, you can pick options (-p or -ick, etc) this are called switches or options.
