And there isn't any RDP type access to these devices where that access can be attempted remotely. That's a physical input device with a ten attempt limit. It's far more secure than the same thing on an SSH password, for example. I think that people are thinking of it in terms of different types of security.

I've been wondering about that myself. Was this factory loaded, loaded from a shipping location, at customs, simply through online attacks.... any potential options.

Look at it a bit like this:
1st image Apple promote ditching the stylus
2nd image Apple have built a stylus (type device) and are promoting its purchase.

If anything, it's an unfair comparison between touch screen technologies

Gig Wireless came out but GigE switches became ubiquitous. So my guess is that this will drive 10GigE adoption even faster. Wireless has low reliability and high latency, the people who want 10Gb/s networking casually will go wireless and those that want it rock solid will go wired. I'm guessing this will drive more applications to leverage it and push adoption faster.
