Moto Z Force - Review
Alright guys, wanted to share my experiences with this thing so far. I swapped over from T-Mobile to Verizon yesterday and I'm thrilled with the coverage thus far. The Moto Z Force is the Moto Z with an upgraded battery (for obvious reasons). I'm coming from an original Nexus 5 (LG) so this review may seem a little exaggerated... I've been using this device for the past 12 hours now without any issues.
-
Battery life is insanity 3500mAH... I've been using the device almost nonstop all morning with full brightness and no GPS services. I'm down to 75% after 5.5 hours.
-
The phone is USB-C without a headphone jack... (marketing...) but they do include the adapter. The downside to this is you can't charge and enjoy music on headphones simultaneously.
-
Screen resolution 1440x2560 never looked so good on this HUGE IPS panel.
-
Camera packs a whopping 21 MP on the rear @ 4x3 orientation. At 16x9 the camera shoots at 16.1. However, the rear also has the ability to shoot 4K @ 30fps or 1080p @ 30/60 fps depending on what you configure it for.

Bloatware? Not seeing much of if anything that Motorola loads aside from their custom GUIs for apps and the widgets included on the device. This pleases me in so many ways.
-
RAM IT UP. I was told by the salesman this was 6 GB or ram but after a closer look it's 4 GB. This is the fastest android device I've ever used personally.

Finger print scanning that works as it should... Alright this sensor is really amazing. You initially set it up and scan a single finger but it can take as many as you'd like to you in order to unlock. This beats the hell of using a pin/pattern imo. I was always iffy about scanners on mobile devices but this has taken care of those assumptions I made previously...

I have yet to come across any bugs on the device itself. However, some VPN applications have acted funny... disconnects and reconnects to 3G after using a WiFi network etc. For now, I've removed the VPN application I was running.

The mods are a really neat and cool idea imo. However, the projector they offer is 50 lumens... The camera is $350 (way too high) and the extended battery gives you 6-7 hours of intensive use. The battery does show as another battery device within the OS itself so you can differ use from the internal battery.

His comment is about the fact that Super Mario (a game from how long ago now?) is just now available on a different platform.
The platform change is a big move, but come out with a new game if you're going to do it. Make a bigger splash of it.
You do not get much bigger than Super Mario, nor the Apple iPhone event.
Also this was Nintendo. I seriously cannot compute how you guys do not understand how big this is that Shigeru Miyamoto got on Apple's stage to do this.
Didn't realize this was a fan boy thread. I'll show myself out.

Can it end now? \rant
My day:
Dev french toasted a web app build last night... showed up an hour early to correct an SSRS report they fudged.
We all stand at my desk as they watch me update stuff.
An hour later an internal application breaks (user did a hard reset with app open and hosed it on her machine).
Another user grabbed me about an hour later (Outlook views messed up).
Setup new user with laptop after imaging... (AD, Mailbox, Phone and Desk setup).
Mail queue in another application has emails hung... spent about 30 mins rebooting and restarting services to flush it out.
My boss expects me to migrate our file server in the next week as well as migrate exchange from 2013 CU13 to 2016 and setup MDT images (Server I setup to begin with).
Boss updated Opsview last night and I came in this morning to a ton of I/O errors on Ubuntu as he took today off aka no monitoring alerts.
I'm frustrated and feel as though at this point he's taking credit for what I do while he sits back.
Is it bad to feel like I should just walk?

And in other news, @zuphzuph brings the much maligned shortened link to Mangolassi.it!
Which link shortener is it that will show you the target when hovering your mouse over the link?
None, because that's not how the technology works
I thought one of them would, tho it probably requires some client side processing to work.
Absolutely requires client side processing. A link doesn't just magically make the browser do things.
Yeah, I think this is a result of SolidWorks having their cloud hosted solution now. We'll probably see a package installer for SolidWorks on AWS in the next couple of days.

RE: What Are You Doing Right Now
Setting up a Surface Pro 4... lost power at the initial start up. Our relationship is off to a rocky start.

RE: Surface Pro 4 - Login Issue
I lost power during the initial setup of an SP4. Had a rouge login, glad I had to reload enterprise on it anyways...
