You need to setup the settings to Delete or changed to not configured, wait until it applies and then delete the GPOs after confirming they are not applied any longer.

      Get-Content c:\temp\gpos.txt | foreach { Get-GPO -Name "$_" | Remove-GPO }

      http://jeffwouters.nl/index.php/2013/08/remove-group-policy-objects-through-powershell/

I bet you could do something like this to set all GPOs to "on delete remove from client" too

This assumes a txt file with all GPO names. You could also just use Get-GPO

Never heard that... But here is a good list: https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bier#Deutschland

There are 1,327 breweries in our small country and we are producing 98,078,000 HL (hectolitre) per year. I just can't know them all πŸ˜‰

    • RE: Raspberry Pi Zero W Bought for Testing

RPis are good for education purposes because there's a large community behind. But they are expensive.

Use OrangePi if you need more than two or three later on.

"Installing" is pretty much always the same: Grab an image, write it to an SD card. There are dozens of tools for the job, ranging from dd to Win32DiskImager. As said before, there are dozens of tools out there. Rufus is another widely used option. Haven't used Etcher, but it looks pretty simple (in terms of "noob"-compliance).

Tip: Get a good SD card. Class 10 / UHS from a well known brand like Sandisk, for example. And keep in mind that the SD card will die at some point, they really don't like random writes. Best to avoid them whereever possible, e.g. redirect logs to a rsyslog server, move /var/run and /var/tmp to a RAM-disk if possible etc.

I usually go for Spaten if I can find it. But the US still gets the "export grade" German beers, so there ya go. I tend to drink local because I know that real Germans would laugh at what we call "German beer" here.

Same with Guinness. What you get here is a joke compared to what I had when I visited Ireland a few times.

    • RE: Reverse Proxy for VPS VMs

I'm running all my linux-based workloads in containers. Gives you a lot of benefits at the cost of a very small management overhead. My default config is to have workloads like NextCloud behind a Traefik or nginx reverse proxy. I can also easily chain in a snort container (or some other WAF), for example. But my main use case for a reverse proxy is certificate handling.

As for the security aspect of a reverse proxy, well, no one will be able to directly reach your Wordpress installation., everything is terminated at the upstream proxy. But if the upstream proxy is just passing everything through, then there's no extra security. A WAF. on the other hand, can be of great help: It may inspect requests for exploits, scan data posted to your site, use externally maintained blacklists to block spammers and so on. While they are usually a PITA to configure, there are templates available for most WAFs and many popular applications, including Wordpress.

Our new dishwasher sucks a bit: when the program finishes, it beeps five or six times. Not that bad, but if you don't turn it off afterwards, it will beep again every few minutes...

Now the "eco" program runs for nearly 3 hours and I had to wait for it to finish before going to bed.

New rule: Do not turn on the dishwasher past 21:00h.

Mine has the option to delay 2, 4, or 6 hours. make it run at 2 AM, works for me.

From tech to tech: sure. But my wife doesn't like that function for whatever reason πŸ˜‰ She's also not using it on our washing machine (the one for clothes)

Well, clothes aren't something you want to to just sit in the machine when the load it done, so there's a significant difference.

If your dishwasher is close to your bedroom, I suppose the delay would be something you wouldn't want.
In my case, the dishwasher is near where I watch TV. I don't want it running while I'm watching TV, but my bed room is a long ways away, so running at 2 AM is great, can't hear it, does not wake us up.

Becci: Honey, no! And also don't think about installing Linux on the dishwasher.

      :D:D:D:D:D

      Your wife is awesome.

We have a history about me installing Linux on different things πŸ˜‰

Like a religion on its own....

Really glad I have no Macs on my network. Have a simple 100% no net and no support rule for them.

Lucky bastard. Our devs have to have iMacs to make our iPad app. I try not to support them, and also our devs are smart and figure most of the issues out on their own.

Why do they need to? As you may know, I'm a developer myself and you can write pretty great cross-platform apps on Windows and Linux for example. Apache Cordova or Xamarin are just two frameworks for this.

All that area is "don't ask, don't tell" for me personally. I don't give half a shit what they use, nor do I have any say in the matter. Or any technical knowledge to make such decisions, I am the most non-programmer of them all.

Hehe. These are the moments where it is just great to be root and lead dev at the same time πŸ˜‰ Devs can't argue with BS at all
